Friday night's beautiful golden sunset, with the waves flowing over the rocks, at Gulf Beach Park in West Vancouver.
Gulf Beach Park is a tiny park with beach access in West Vancouver, accessed via a path hidden between two houses. It's one of my favourite places to shoot as it's so little-known -- I've never seen anyone else there!
I climbed down to the water level from the pathway above to take this shot, which was a tricky procedure when carrying a tripod, as the rocks were very slippery. I really liked how the waves were washing over this flat section of rock, and how it was reflecting the light from the setting sun. I waited for a wave to wash off, taking a 0.8 second exposure to capture the motion of the water along with the last rays of the sunset, lighting up the clouds from below.
