Downtown Vancouver at night, as seen from Spanish Banks Beach near Kitsilano.
From this viewpoint, the buildings are more than 4 miles away. The shore at this beach is very flat, so with the tide being out, there were areas of dry land and relatively still water to create some interesting reflections and foreground interest.
This is a 120 megapixel panorama, so will look stunning when printed huge!
About Alexis Birkill
Born in the UK, I moved to Vancouver, BC in 2011. My career in photography has grown from a long-held passion for capturing the beauty of the world, aided on the technical side by my background as a software developer. I specialise in fine art photography of landscapes, seascapes and cityscapes in and around the Pacific Northwest, with work exhibited internationally. Many of my photographs feature the beautiful city of Vancouver, but as well as capturing its iconic cityscapes, I can often be found exploring the BC and Washington coastline for new photographic opportunities, as well as developing my portfolio of night sky photographs featuring the Milky Way and the Aurora Borealis.
